mama clute's visit and a trip to sea world

Last week we had a special visitor: Matt's Mom came out to see us. It had been a while since her last trip to San Diego, and when the airlines put out a killer deal, she jumped on it and booked a trip! Unfortunately Matt and I still had to work during the week, but she occupied herself by going out and taking pictures at all sorts of places around town, as well as keeping Mr H company. He sure loves his Grandma. :) And when we were finally free from work we spent the evenings having dinner together and doing lots of talking. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing.

On Saturday Matt was dying to get out of the house and go to Sea World. He had never been before (it was on his SD bucket list) and it was free for military and their families so we decided to check it out. Can't pass up a deal like that! It was a lot more fun than I was expecting it to be.

We saw the "Pet's Rule" show which was very funny and so cute! They had all sorts of animals doing tricks: cats, dogs, pigs, and birds. The Arctic Zone was one of my favorite places: it had polar bears, a walrus, penguins, and beluga whales.

After checking out most of the park and seeing all of San Diego from the sky tower, we headed over to the Shamu show (and sat safely out of the splash zone)!

And since it is October (and Halloween is coming up), people come all dressed up and kids can "trick or treat". I spotted this guy and had to get a photo:
We spent most of Sunday lounging around the house. I made grain free pancakes for breakfast (more on that later), we watched football, and eventually took a trip to Old Town. We walked around, listened to some music and then enjoyed a nice dinner out. Mmmm Mexican food. The food was yummy and the company was great. Spending time with family and friends always makes me happy. It was great having Mama Clute visit. Since we live across the country from each other we don't get as much quality time together as I would like. It was nice to do a little bonding. We only wish Dad could have made the trip too. Next time right? Hurry back!
